Ayurveda
Ayurveda literally translates to the “science of life.” It is a 5000-year-old natural and holistic medicine system from India addressing beauty, health, and wellness practices. All OM Botanical formulations are rooted in science.
Ayurvedic medicinal preparations are usually based on complex herbal compounds and minerals, emphasize balance, and based on the understanding that the skin absorbs nutrients that will affect our body on a cellular level. Nothing, therefore, should be applied to the skin that should not be taken internally.
We use many botanicals and oils traditionally associated with Ayurvedic practices, like neem, brahmi, and bringraj, in our products. In fact, many of these ingredients come from a 3-farm cooperative in Indore, India.
Whole botanical ingredients
Plants, over millions of years of evolution, have created a natural balance within. We use full spectrum (whole) extracts, instead of active ingredient isolates, to leverage this synergy and bioactivity to create safe and effective products. We also avoid alcohol (using other astringents like witch hazel and willow bark for toning) so we don’t strip your skin’s natural oils and nutrients.
Vegan…like our founder
We believe that using animals as property is unethical, no matter how they are treated. None of our products contain animal products nor are they tested on animals.
Based in aloe
The first ingredient of most products is water. We use aloe vera juice. In addition to its soothing properties, aloe juice contains lignin which helps it penetrate deep into your skin’s layers bringing all the active botanical ingredients with it.
Made in USA
No contracting overseas! We formulate and manufacture all of our products, in small batches, in our facility in North Carolina. It’s the best way of ensuring you get high quality products, crafted with care.
